8 General Description:
9 This joint resolution of the Legislature requests that the state's ethnic advisory councils
10 and the Division of Indian Affairs present an annual report to the Legislature's
11 Executive Appropriations Committee.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This resolution:
14 . requests that Utah's Asian, Black, Hispanic, and Pacific Islander Advisory Councils
15 and the Division of Indian Affairs present an annual report on their respective
16 communities to the Legislature's Executive Appropriations Committee.

20 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
21 WHEREAS, the Black Advisory Council, the Hispanic Advisory Council, the Asian
22 Advisory Council, the Pacific Islander Advisory Council, and the Division of Indian Affairs
23 were established in part to advise the Governor on concerns and issues affecting these ethnic
24 communities;
25 WHEREAS, the Legislature would greatly benefit from hearing directly from the
26 representatives of Utah's Black, Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Island, and Native American
27 communities; and

WHEREAS, an annual report from the advisory councils and the Division of Indian28
29 Affairs representing these communities of Utahns should be made to the Legislature:
30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah
31 requests that the Black Advisory Council, the Hispanic Advisory Council, the Asian Advisory
32 Council, the Pacific Islander Advisory Council, and the Division of Indian Affairs annually
33 report to the Legislature's Executive Appropriations Committee S IN JULY s regarding their
33a respective
34 communities.
35 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Black
36 Advisory Council, the Hispanic Advisory Council, the Asian Advisory Council, the Pacific
37 Islander Advisory Council, and the Division of Indian Affairs.
