LONG TITLE
General Description:
This bill provides that a marriage license issued in Utah may only be used in Utah.
Highlighted Provisions:
This bill:
. clarifies that a marriage license issued by a county clerk within this state may only be
used within this state; and
. makes technical changes.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
Section 1. Section 30-1-7 is amended to read:
30-1-7. Marriage licenses -- Use within state -- Expiration.
(1) No marriage may be solemnized in this state without a license issued by the county
clerk of any county of [the] this state [of Utah not more than 30 days prior to the date of
solemnization of the marriage].
(2) A license issued within this state by a county clerk may only be used within this
state.

(3) A license that is not used within 30 days of the date of issuance is void.
