             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill modifies state affairs in general to address commemorative days and months.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    designates the Monday preceding Thanksgiving as Indigenous People Day;
             14          .    designates November as American Indian Heritage Month; and
             15          .    makes technical changes.
             16      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             17          None
             18      Other Special Clauses:
             19          None
             20      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             21      AMENDS:
             22          63-13-5.6, as enacted by Chapter 174, Laws of Utah 2001

             24      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             25          Section 1. Section 63-13-5.6 is amended to read:
             26           63-13-5.6. Commemorative days -- Commemorative months.
             27          (1) The following days shall be commemorated yearly on the designated calendar date:



             28          [(1)] (a) Bill of Rights Day, December 15; [and]
             29          [(2)] (b) Constitution Day, September 17[.]; and
             30          (c) Indigenous People Day, the Monday immediately preceding Thanksgiving.
             31          (2) The month of November shall be commemorated yearly as American Indian
             32      Heritage Month.
