Sen. Waddoups called the meeting to order at 3:20. p.m.
    
     MOTION: Sen. Allen moved to approve the minutes of January 20th & 21st 2004.
    

    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Blackham and Sen. Bramble absent at the time of the vote.

    Sen. Bramble assumed the chair.

1.     S.B. 42 UTAH EXEMPTION CODE AMENDMENTS (Sen. D. Gladwell)

    
Sen. Gladwell presented the bill to the committee.

     MOTION: Sen. Gladwell moved to amend the bill.

    Sen. Gladwell withdrew the motion.

    Bruce Johnson, Utah Tax Commission spoke to the bill.

    MOTION: Sen. Blackham moved to pass S. B. 42 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.



    The motion passed unanimously.

2.     H.B. 191 CORPORATE FRANCHISE AND INCOME TAX AMENDMENTS (Rep. G. Snow)

    
Rep. Snow presented the bill to the committee.

    
Bruce Johnson, Utah State Tax Commission spoke to he bill.

    MOTION:
Sen. Blackham moved to pass H.B. 191 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Waddoups assumed the chair.

3.     S.B. 115 SPECIAL ELECTION DATES (Sen. C. Bramble)

    Sen. Bramble presented the bill to the committee.

    Ann O'Connell, League of Women Voters; Mike Jerman, Utah Taxpayer Association, spoke     in favor of the bill. Blaine L. Carlton, attorney; Gary Cameron, USSA & USBA, and     Barbara Smith, Davis board of Education, spoke in opposition to the bill.

    Sen. Gladwell assumed the chair.

     MOTION: Sen. Bramble moved to pass S.B. 115 out of committee with a favorable     recommendation.

    The motion passed with Sen. Allen, Sen. Bell and Sen. Dmitrich voting in opposition with     Sen. Waddoups absent at the time fo the vote.

     MOTION: Sen. Bell moved to adjourn.
    
    The motion passed unanimously.

    Sen. Bramble adjourned the meeting at 4:20 p.m.
