Committee Chair Killpack called the meeting to order at 9:08 a.m.
    
1.     U.S. G.A.T.S. Trade Agreement -- Rep. Sheryl Allen

    Rep. Allen explained the agreement and encouraged the committee to become informed     about the agreement and to be alert to changes.

     MOTION: Sen. Hale moved to recommend that leadership in both parties draft and send a     letter to Ambassador Robert Zoellick, U.S. Trade Representative, regarding negotiations     proceeding under the General Agreement on Trade on Services.
    
    The motion passed unanimously.

2.    H.B. 210 Law Enforcement Employee Background Checks (L. Pace)

    Rep. Pace explained the bill.

    Ken Wallentine, Chair, Utah Law Enforcement Legislation Committee, spoke in support of     the bill.




     MOTION: Sen. Hickman moved to pass the bill out favorably.

    The motion passed unanimously .

     MOTION: Sen. Walker moved to adjourn.

The motion passed unanimously.

    Chair Killpack adjourned the meeting at 9:25 a.m.
