                  LONG TITLE
                  General Description:
                      This bill appropriates $152,000 from the General Fund in fiscal year 2004-2005 to the
                  Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek and reduces the
                  appropriation to the University of Utah Museum of Natural History for Range Creek.
                  Highlighted Provisions:
                      This bill:
                      .    redirects $50,000 in General Fund on-going monies appropriated to the University
                  of Utah for Range Creek to the Department of Natural Resources for security at
                  Range Creek; and
                      .    appropriates $102,000 in one-time monies from the General Fund surplus to the
                  Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek.
                  Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
                      In fiscal year 2004-2005, $152,000 is appropriated from the General Fund to the
                  Department of Natural Resources for security at Range Creek.
                  Other Special Clauses:
                      This bill provides an immediate effective date.

                  Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. General provisions.
                      Under the terms and conditions of Section 63-38-3, the following sums of money
                  are appropriated from the funds or fund accounts indicated for the use and support of the
                  government of the State of Utah for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2004 and ending June 30,
                  2005.
                      Section 2. Item 133, Chapter 256, Laws of Utah 2004 is amended to read:
                      Item 133    To University of Utah - Public Service
                              From General Fund            [1,328,700] 1,278,700
                              From General Fund, One-time        9,600
                              Schedule of Programs:
                               Seismograph Stations        403,200
                               Museum of Natural History    [822,500] 772,500
                               State Arboretum            112,600
                      It is the intent of the Legislature that the Museum of Natural History use $150,000 of the
                  appropriated funds to survey and catalogue the Range Creek site, and to identify, record, and
                  preserve sites and artifacts at the Range Creek site.
                      Section 3. Item 183a is enacted to read:
                      Item 183a    To Department of Natural Resources - Range Creek
                              From General Fund                50,000
                              From General Fund, One-time        102,000
                              Schedule of Programs:
                               Range Creek Security            152,000
                      It is the intent of the Legislature that the Department of Natural Resources use the
                  appropriated funds to secure the Range Creek site to prevent trespass, theft, and vandalism.
                      Section 4. Effective date.
                      If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
                  upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah

                  Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto, the
                  date of veto override.
