                  LONG TITLE
                  General Description:
                      This joint resolution amends provisions regarding the appearance of adopted
                  amendments in the Senate and House of Representatives.
                  Highlighted Provisions:
                      This resolution:
                      .    amends provisions allowing a change in the type of markers indicating the
                  beginning and ending of adopted Senate and House amendments.
                  Special Clauses:
                      This joint resolution provides an immediate effective date.
                  Legislative Rules Affected:
                  AMENDS:
                      JR-4.17
                 
                  Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
                      Section 1. JR-4.17 is amended to read:
                       JR-4.17. Identifying Adopted Amendments in Context.
                      (1) When an amendment is [made] adopted in the Senate, [it is] the Senate amendment
                  shall be noted in the bill with additional spacing and [an "s" both before and after] markers
                  indicating the beginning and ending of the adopted Senate amendment.
                      (2) When an amendment is [made] adopted in the House, [it is] the House amendment
                  shall be noted in the bill with additional spacing and [an "h" both before and after] markers
                  indicating the beginning and ending of the adopted House amendment.


                      (3) When another section from the Utah Code is added through the amendment process,
                  only new language that is different from the code section cited is underlined.
                      Section 2. Effective date.
                      This resolution takes effect upon approval by a constitutional majority vote of all
                  members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
