7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill provides for the withdrawal of the state from the Compact for Education.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 . repeals provisions relating to the Compact for Education, which is governed by the
13 Education Commission of the States and organized for the purpose of facilitating
14 the improvement of state and local educational systems; and
15 . directs the governor to notify the party states of Utah's withdrawal from the
16 compact.

29 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
30 Section 1. Repealer.
31 This bill repeals:
32 Section 53A-27-101, Entrance into compact -- Text of compact.
33 Section 53A-27-102, Delegates to education commission.
34 Section 53A-27-103, Commission to file bylaws and amendments with governor.
35 Section 2. Notification of withdrawal from the Compact for Education.
36 Pursuant to the withdrawal procedures prescribed in the Compact for Education, Article
37 VIII, the governor shall notify the governors of the party states of Utah's withdrawal from the
38 Compact for Education.
