8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This bill enacts a provision relating to a municipality's use of a collection agency to
11 collect a debt owing to the municipality.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . authorizes municipalities to employ a collection agency to collect a debt owing to
15 the municipality and to give the collection agency, for the purpose of collecting the
16 debt, the name and address of the debtor.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Section 10-8-85.6 is enacted to read:
27 10-8-85.6. Authority to use collection agency to collect debt.

28 A municipality may employ a collection agency for the purpose of collecting a debt
29 owing to the municipality and may, for the purpose of collecting the debt, give to the collection
30 agency the name and address of the person owing the debt.
