             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This resolution directs the Chief Clerk of the House in how votes should be displayed
             10      on the electronic board.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This resolution:
             13          .    requires the Chief Clerk to ensure that the electronic board shows total ayes and
             14      nays while the vote is open;
             15          .    requires the Chief Clerk to ensure that the electronic board shows whether or not
             16      each individual House member has voted while the vote is open; and
             17          .    requires the Chief Clerk to ensure that the electronic board shows the vote of each
             18      individual House member only after voting is closed.
             19      Special Clauses:
             20          This resolution provides an immediate effective date.

             22      Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the state of Utah:
             23          WHEREAS, the Utah House of Representatives may determine how voting will be
             24      conducted in the House chambers; and
             25          WHEREAS, the electronic voting system in the House chambers allows different
             26      display options:
             27          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Utah House of Representatives


             28      direct the Chief Clerk of the Utah House to ensure that the electronic voting system is
             29      programmed to: display total ayes and nays while voting is open; display whether or not each
             30      individual House member has voted while voting is open; and display the vote of each
             31      individual House member only after the Speaker has closed the vote.
             32          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution takes effect upon approval by a
             33      constitutional majority vote of all members of the House of Representatives.
