             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This joint resolution approves the closure of the West Valley and Sandy District Court
             11      locations.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This resolution:
             14          .    approves the closure of the West Valley City and Sandy City locations of the Third
             15      District Court.
             16      Special Clauses:
             17          This resolution provides an effective date.
             18     
             19      Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             20          WHEREAS, a district court was located within the municipal boundaries of West
             21      Valley City and Sandy City, Utah on and before January 1, 1994;
             22          WHEREAS, Section 78-3-13.4 requires the Legislature to approve by joint resolution
             23      removal of a district court from a municipality in which the district court or the circuit court
             24      existed on January 1, 1994; and
             25          WHEREAS, the Utah Judicial Council and West Valley City and Sandy City propose to
             26      close the West Valley City and Sandy City locations of the district court:
             27          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah



             28      approves the closure of the district courts within the municipal boundaries of West Valley City
             29      and Sandy City, Utah.
             30          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah
             31      Judicial Council, West Valley City, and Sandy City.
             32          BE IT FURTHER RESOLED that this resolution takes effect upon approval by a
             33      constitutional majority vote of all members of the Senate and House of Representatives.
