Committee Chair Christensen called the meeting to order at 2:15 p.m.

1.    S.B. 0083 Medical Decisions of a Parent or Guardian (D. Thomas)

    Sen. Thomas explained the bill.

    The following individuals spoke in favor of the bill:
    Richard Anderson, director, Division Child and Family Services
    Mark May, Attorney General's Office
    Daren Jensen, father of Parker Jensen
    
     MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to pass the bill out with a favorable recommendation.
    


    The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Bell absent at the time of the vote.

2.    S.B. 77 Amendments to Indoor Clean Air Act (M. Waddoups)

    Sen. Waddoups explained the bill.

1.    Page 2, Lines 32 through 33 :    

             32          (1)
{   Smoking   }        Except as provided in Subsection (2), smoking       is prohibited        :

    (a)  
in all enclosed indoor places of public access and publicly

             33      owned buildings and offices
{   , except under Subsection (2)   }        ; and

    (b) in private clubs as defined in Section 26-38-2  
.


     MOTION: Sen Knudson moved that the committee adopt the amendment to S.B. 77.

    The motion passed with Sen. Bell absent at the time of the vote.

3.    S.B. 19 Disease Testing of Individuals Exposed to Blood Borne Pathogens
     (P. Julander)

    This bill was not discussed.

Committee Chair Christensen adjourned the meeting at 3:30 p.m.
