Chair Walker called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.
MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to approve the minutes of February 18, 2005.
The motion passed unanimously.
1. SB 234 Amendments to Department of Community and Economic Development (P. Knudson)
MOTION: Sen. Knudson moved to delete in title and body SB 234 and replace it with 1st Sub. SB 234.
The motion passed unanimously.
Sen. Knudson presented 1st Sub. SB 234 and responded to questions from committee members. He said that he was in favor of sending the bill to interim study.
Martin Frey, Co-Director, Utah Department of Business and Economic Development, clarified the bill and spoke in favor of the bill.
Richard Bradford, Deputy Director, Utah Department of Business and Economic Development, responded to questions from committee members.
Jeff Bennion, Chair, Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund Multi Family Board, thanked the committee for separating the Olene Walker Housing Loan Fund Board and the Industrial Assistance Fund elements of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Madsen moved to send 1st Sub. SB 234 to Rules and subsequently to interim study.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Fife moved to adjourn the meeting.
Chair Walker adjourned the meeting at 9:00 a.m.
