             8      LONG TITLE
             9      General Description:
             10          This bill modifies the State System of Public Education Code by requiring an annual
             11      consolidated report to be compiled and made available to the public.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    requires the State Board of Education, through the superintendent of public
             15      instruction to annually make a consolidated report for the state system of public
             16      education from certain data it collects; and
             17          .    provides for the availability and accessibility of the consolidated report.

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 53A-3-604 is enacted to read:


             28          53A-3-604. Consolidated public education report -- Availability.
             29          (1) The State Board of Education, through the superintendent of public instruction,
             30      shall annually make a consolidated report for the state system of public education from the data
             31      it collects:
             32          (a) for the report on reading achievement progress in grades one through three under
             33      Section 53A-1-606.5 ;
             34          (b) for the school performance reports under Section 53A-3-602.5 ;
             35          (c) from school districts' statistical reports under Subsection 53A-3-403 (4) and the
             36      same information from charter schools under Subsection 53A-1a-507 (4)(a); and
             37          (d) other available data that the board may elect to include in the report.
             38          (2) The consolidated report shall be available to the public:
             39          (a) free of charge;
             40          (b) annually;
             41          (c) within 180 days of the completion of the school year; and
             42          (d) in an easy to locate, readily accessible electronic format.
