9 General Description:
10 This bill creates a restricted account for the receipt and expenditure of certain gifts and
11 donations to the Office of the Attorney General.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . creates the Attorney General Donations Account as a restricted account in the
15 General Fund; and
16 . provides that gifts, grants, devises, donations, and bequests of real or personal
17 property or services received by the Office of the Attorney General are deposited
18 into the account.

27 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
28 Section 1. Section 67-5-21 is enacted to read:
29 67-5-21. Attorney General Donations Account -- Gifts, grants, devises, donations,
30 and bequests to the Office of the Attorney General -- Uses.
31 (1) There is created within the General Fund a restricted account known as the
32 Attorney General Donations Account.
33 (2) The Attorney General Donations Account consists of gifts, grants, devises,
34 donations, and bequests of real property, personal property, or services from any source made
35 to the Office of the Attorney General, which gifts, grants, devises, donations, and bequests
36 shall then become the property of the state.
37 (3) Upon appropriation by the Legislature, monies from the account shall be used as
38 follows:
39 (a) if the donor designates a specific purpose or use for the gift, grant, devise, donation,
40 or bequest, it shall be used solely for that purpose; and
41 (b) gifts, grants, devises, donations, and bequests not designated under Subsection
42 (3)(a) shall be used to carry out the duties of the Office of the Attorney General under this
43 chapter.
