9 General Description:
10 This joint resolution modifies legislative expense provisions.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This resolution:
13 . modifies the legislative expense allowance; and
14 . provides reimbursement for actual lodging expenses during the annual general
15 session up to the federal per diem rate for Salt Lake City.

22 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. JR-15.02 is amended to read:
24 JR-15.02. Expenses While in Session.
25 (1) This rule governs legislative expenses when the Legislature is in annual general
26 session.
27 (2) Each legislator shall receive an expense allowance equal to the [sum of the federal

28 lodging per diem rate for Salt Lake City and the] federal meals and incidental expenses per
29 diem rate for Salt Lake City.
30 (3) (a) Each legislator shall receive transportation costs to and from the session.
31 (b) These costs shall be computed on the basis of actual mileage for private automobile
32 use or the actual cost of alternative commercial transportation.
33 (4) If attendance at the annual general session necessitates overnight accommodations,
34 legislators shall receive reimbursement for lodging expenses at the federal lodging per diem
35 rate for Salt Lake City for each night that the legislator incurs lodging expenses.
