8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the Uniform Driver License Act by increasing selected driver license
10 fees.
11 Highlighted Provisions:

22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 53-3-105 is amended to read:
24 53-3-105. Fees for licenses, renewals, extensions, reinstatements, rescheduling,
25 and identification cards.
26 The following fees apply under this chapter:
27 (1) An original class D license application under Section 53-3-205 is [
28 (2) An original class M license application under Section 53-3-205 is [
29 (3) An original provisional license application for a class D license under Section
30 53-3-205 is [
31 (4) An original provisional license application for a class M license under Section
32 53-3-205 is [
33 (5) An original application for a motorcycle endorsement under Section 53-3-205 is
34 [
35 (6) An original application for a taxicab endorsement under Section 53-3-205 is [
36 $7.
37 (7) A learner permit application under Section 53-3-210.5 is $15.
38 (8) A renewal of a class D license under Section 53-3-214 is [
39 Subsection (14) applies.
40 (9) A renewal of a class M license under Section 53-3-214 is [
41 (10) A renewal of a provisional license application for a class D license under Section
42 53-3-214 is [
43 (11) A renewal of a provisional license application for a class M license under Section
44 53-3-214 is [
45 (12) A renewal of a motorcycle endorsement under Section 53-3-214 is [
46 (13) A renewal of a taxicab endorsement under Section 53-3-214 is [
47 (14) A renewal of a class D license for a person 65 and older under Section 53-3-214 is

49 (15) An extension of a class D license under Section 53-3-214 is [
50 Subsection (21) applies.
51 (16) An extension of a class M license under Section 53-3-214 is [
52 (17) An extension of a provisional license application for a class D license under
53 Section 53-3-214 is [
54 (18) An extension of a provisional license application for a class M license under
55 Section 53-3-214 is [
56 (19) An extension of a motorcycle endorsement under Section 53-3-214 is [
57 $9.50.
58 (20) An extension of a taxicab endorsement under Section 53-3-214 is [
59 (21) An extension of a class D license for a person 65 and older under Section
60 53-3-214 is [
61 (22) An original or renewal application for a commercial class A, B, or C license or an
62 original or renewal of a provisional commercial class A or B license under Part 4, Uniform
63 Commercial Driver License Act, is:
64 (a) $35 for the knowledge test; and
65 (b) $55 for the skills test.
66 (23) Each original CDL endorsement for passengers, hazardous material, double or
67 triple trailers, or tankers is $5.
68 (24) An original CDL endorsement for a school bus under Part 4, Uniform Commercial
69 Driver License Act, is $5.
70 (25) A renewal of a CDL endorsement under Part 4, Uniform Commercial Driver
71 License Act, is $5.
72 (26) A retake of a CDL knowledge or a CDL skills test provided for in Section
73 53-3-205 is $15.
74 (27) A retake of a CDL endorsement test provided for in Section 53-3-205 is $5.
75 (28) A duplicate class A, B, C, D, or M license certificate under Section 53-3-215 is
76 [
77 (29) (a) A license reinstatement application under Section 53-3-205 is [
78 (b) A license reinstatement application under Section 53-3-205 for an alcohol, drug, or
79 combination of alcohol and any drug-related offense is $25 in addition to the fee under
80 Subsection (29)(a).
81 (30) (a) An administrative fee for license reinstatement after an alcohol, drug, or
82 combination of alcohol and any drug-related offense under Section 41-6a-520 , 53-3-223 , or
83 53-3-231 or an alcohol, drug, or combination of alcohol and any drug-related offense under
84 Part 4, Uniform Commercial Driver License Act, is $150.
85 (b) This administrative fee is in addition to the fees under Subsection (29).
86 (31) (a) An administrative fee for providing the driving record of a driver under
87 Section 53-3-104 or 53-3-420 is [
88 (b) The division may not charge for a report furnished under Section 53-3-104 to a
89 municipal, county, state, or federal agency.
90 (32) A rescheduling fee under Section 53-3-205 or 53-3-407 is $25.
91 (33) An identification card application under Section 53-3-808 is [
92 Section 2. Effective date.
93 This bill takes effect on July 1, 2007.
