             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends the Health Promotion and Risk Reduction chapter of the Health Code.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    authorizes the Department of Health to establish a program to educate citizens about
             13      the risks of cervical cancer and prevention of cervical cancer and to begin an
             14      immunization program for cervical cancer.
             15      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          This bill appropriates:
             17          .    as an ongoing appropriation subject to future budget constraints, $1,000,000 from
             18      the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 to the Department of Health.
             19      Other Special Clauses:

             22      ENACTS:
             23          26-7-3, Utah Code Annotated 1953

             25      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             26          Section 1. Section 26-7-3 is enacted to read:
             27          26-7-3. Cervical cancer prevention and wellness program.



             28          The department shall educate the public with regard to the risk factors associated with
             29      cervical cancer and efforts to prevent cervical cancer. The department may establish programs
             30      to reduce or eliminate the incidence of cervical cancer in the state, including providing an
             31      immunization program for cervical cancer.
             32          Section 2. Appropriation.
             33          As an ongoing appropriation subject to future budget constraints, there is appropriated
             34      from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08, $1,000,000 to the Department of Health for
             35      establishing the education and immunization program for cervical cancer prevention as
             36      described in Section 26-7-3 .
