7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill appropriates certain ongoing General Fund monies to the Division of Veterans'
10 Affairs to fund certain outreach programs to veterans and their families.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . appropriates $50,000 to the Division of Veterans' Affairs to fund increased efforts to
14 provide information and assist veterans and their families to get the benefits and
15 services currently available to them.
16 Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
17 This bill appropriates:
18 . $50,000 from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 only, to the Division of
19 Veterans' Affairs.
20 Other Special Clauses:
21 S. [ None ] This bill coordinates with H.B. 426, Change to the Department of Veterans'
21a Affairs, by providing a technical change. .S

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Appropriation.

27 (1) There is appropriated from the General Fund for fiscal year 2007-08 only, $50,000

to the Division of Veterans' Affairs within the Utah National Guard.
29 (2) It is the intent of the Legislature that the monies appropriated under Subsection (1)
30 be used to increase efforts to implement the provisions of Subsections 71-8-3 (3) and (4)
31 regarding:
32 (a) providing current information to veterans and their surviving spouses and family
33 members to be aware of benefits to which they are entitled; and
34 (b) reaching out and assisting veterans and their families in applying for benefits and
35 services.
35a S. Section 2. Coordinating S.B. 231 with H.B. 426 -- Technical change.
35b If this S.B. 231 and H.B. 426, Change to the Department of Veterans' Affairs both pass, it is
35c the intent of the Legislature that the funding appropriated to the Division of Veterans' Affairs
35d in this bill be appropriated to the Department of Veterans' Affairs. .S
