             9      General Description:
             10          This bill creates the Wildlife Resources Conservation Easement Restricted Account.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    creates within the General Fund a restricted account consisting of grants and
             14      donations from foundations, the Quality Growth Commission, local governments,
             15      the state, the federal government, and landowners; and
             16          .    specifies that the monies in the restricted account are to be used to monitor and
             17      manage conservation easements held by the Division of Wildlife Resources.

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 23-14-14.2 is enacted to read:
             28          23-14-14.2. Wildlife Resources Conservation Easement Restricted Account.
             29          (1) There is created within the General Fund a restricted account known as the Wildlife


             30      Resources Conservation Easement Account.
             31          (2) The Wildlife Resources Conservation Easement Account consists of:
             32          (a) grants from private foundations;
             33          (b) grants from local governments, the state, or the federal government;
             34          (c) grants from the Quality Growth Commission created under Section 11-38-201 ;
             35          (d) donations from landowners for monitoring and managing conservation easements;
             36          (e) donations from any other person; and
             37          (f) interest on account monies.
             38          (3) Upon appropriation by the Legislature, the Division of Wildlife Resources shall use
             39      monies from the account to monitor and manage conservation easements held by the division.
             40          (4) The division may not receive or expend donations from the account to acquire
             41      conservation easements.
