             9      General Description:
             10          This bill exempts certain military personnel from certain hunter education
             11      requirements.
             12      Highlighted Provisions:
             13          This bill:
             14          .    exempts certain military personnel from a practical shooting test requirement of an
             15      approved hunter education course.
             16      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:

             24      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             25          Section 1. Section 23-19-11.1 is enacted to read:
             26          23-19-11.1. Hunter education practical shooting test -- Exemptions.
             27          (1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), the Wildlife Board may require that the


             28      division-approved hunter education course required by Subsection 23-19-11 (1) include a
             29      practical shooting test.
             30          (2) A member of the United States Armed Forces, including the Utah National Guard,
             31      is exempt from a practical shooting test that may be required under Subsection (1) if the
             32      member has:
             33          (a) passed firearms training in the United States Armed Forces or Utah National Guard;
             34      and
             35          (b) been on active duty within the last six months.
             36          (3) In accordance with Title 63, Chapter 46a, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act, the
             37      Wildlife Board may make rules establishing firearms test verification requirements.
