             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill modifies provisions of the Election Code relating to deadlines for submission of
             10      ballot questions.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    requires that, unless otherwise specifically provided for by law, all ballot questions
             14      be submitted to the elections officer at least 60 days before the date of the election.
             15      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             16          None
             17      Other Special Clauses:
             18          This bill provides an immediate effective date.

             20      ENACTS:
             21          20A-6-106, Utah Code Annotated 1953

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 20A-6-106 is enacted to read:
             25          20A-6-106. Deadline for submission of ballot titles.
             26          Unless otherwise specifically provided for by statute, the certified ballot title of each
             27      ballot proposition, ballot question, or ballot issue shall be submitted to the election officer no
             28      later than 60 days before the date of the election at which the matter will be submitted to the
             29      voters.


             30          Section 2. Effective date.
             31          If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
             32      upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
             33      Constitution Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
             34      the date of veto override.
