Rep. Menlove called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Dougall moved to approve the minutes of the February 20, 2008 meeting. The motion passed unanimously.


S.B. 138    Utah Substance Abuse and Anti-violence Coordinating Council Amendments (Sen. D. C. Buttars)

Sen. Buttars explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Litvack moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Ray moved to place S.B. 138 on the Consent Calendar with the approval of Sen. Buttars. The motion passed unanimously.


2nd Sub. S.B. 184    Child Care Licensing Exemptions (Sen. J. Greiner)

Sen. Greiner explained the bill to the committee.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Steve Sullivan, trustee of YMCA
                        Karen Silver, Salt Lake Community Action Program
    




MOTION:    Rep. Dougall moved to pass 2nd Substitute S.B. 184 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Riesen moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
