             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends the criminal statute of limitations relating to child abuse homicide.
             10      Highlighted Provisions:
             11          This bill:
             12          .    provides that prosecution for first degree felony child abuse homicide or second
             13      degree felony child abuse homicide may be commenced at any time.
             14      Monies Appropriated in this Bill:
             15          None
             16      Other Special Clauses:
             17          None
             18      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             19      AMENDS:
             20          76-1-301, as last amended by Laws of Utah 2008, Chapter 129

             22      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             23          Section 1. Section 76-1-301 is amended to read:
             24           76-1-301. Offenses for which prosecution may be commenced at any time.
             25          Notwithstanding any other provisions of this code, prosecution for the following
             26      offenses may be commenced at any time:
             27          (1) capital felony;
             28          (2) aggravated murder;
             29          (3) murder;


             30          (4) manslaughter;
             31          (5) child abuse homicide [which is a second degree felony];
             32          (6) aggravated kidnapping;
             33          (7) child kidnapping;
             34          (8) rape;
             35          (9) rape of a child;
             36          (10) object rape;
             37          (11) object rape of a child;
             38          (12) forcible sodomy;
             39          (13) sodomy on a child;
             40          (14) sexual abuse of a child;
             41          (15) aggravated sexual abuse of a child; or
             42          (16) aggravated sexual assault.
