8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This resolution modifies the joint legislative rule relating to deadlines for passing the
11 base budget.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This resolution:
14 . provides that the deadline for receiving a copy of the base budget may be waived by
15 a majority vote of the Legislature; and
16 . provides that the deadline for passing or defeating the base budget bill may be
17 waived by a majority vote of the Legislature.

24 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. JR4-5-201 is amended to read:
26 JR4-5-201. Deadline for Passing Base Budget Bills.
27 (1) Each legislator shall receive a copy of each base budget bill for the next fiscal year

28 by calendared floor time on the first day of the annual general session.
29 (2) By noon on the tenth day, but not before the third day, of the annual general
30 session, the Legislature shall either pass or defeat each base budget bill.
31 (3) This rule may be suspended by a majority vote in each house of the Legislature.
