7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill enacts provisions relating to the authority of counties and municipalities to
10 regulate the dissemination of nutritional information.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . prohibits counties and municipalities from regulating the dissemination of
14 nutritional information by restaurants and other facilities; and
15 . provides that an ordinance or regulation in violation of this prohibition is void.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Section 10-8-44.5 is enacted to read:
27 10-8-44.5. Prohibition against regulation of nutritional information
28 dissemination.
29 (1) A municipality may not regulate the dissemination of nutritional information or the

30 content required to be placed on a menu, menu board, or food tag by a restaurant, eating
31 establishment, or other food facility.
32 (2) An ordinance or regulation that violates Subsection (1) is void.
33 Section 2. Section 17-50-327 is enacted to read:
34 17-50-327. Prohibition against regulation of nutritional information
35 dissemination.
36 (1) A county may not regulate the dissemination of nutritional information or the
37 content required to be placed on a menu, menu board, or food tag by a restaurant, eating
38 establishment, or other food facility.
39 (2) An ordinance or regulation that violates Subsection (1) is void.
