9 General Description:
10 This bill requires signs to be posted at various facilities warning of the danger of
11 leaving children or pets in parked vehicles.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . defines terms; and
15 . requires signs to be placed at state facilities, public schools, and child care program
16 facilities warning of the dangers of leaving children or pets in parked vehicles.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 63A-5-901 is enacted to read:

28 Part 9. Required Signage at Certain Public Buildings
29 63A-5-901. Definitions.
30 As used in this part:
31 (1) "Child care program" is as defined in Section 26-39-102 .
32 (2) "Public school" means a school that is part of the state system of public education.
33 (3) "State facility" is as defined in Section 63A-5-701 .
34 Section 2. Section 63A-5-902 is enacted to read:
35 63A-5-902. Signs required at certain buildings.
36 The entity that manages a state facility, child care program facility, or public school
37 shall place a sign conspicuously at each entrance to the building that is accessible from any
38 parking lot in substantially the following form:
39 WARNING: Do not leave children or pets in your vehicle. Extreme temperatures in
40 parked vehicles can lead to death.
