Rep. Ray called the meeting to order at 8:09 a.m.
MOTION: Rep. Daw moved to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2009 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Menlove absent for the vote.
H.B. 407 Regulation of Private Instruction Swimming Pools (Rep. G. Hughes)
This bill was not heard.
H.B. 419 Tanning Facilities Tax and Melanoma Cancer Research Fund (Rep. M. Brown)
Rep. Brown explained the bill, which was first heard and amended by the committee on February 25, 2009. MaryAnn Gerber, a volunteer for the Utah Cancer Action Network, and Michael Siler, Director of Government Relations, American Cancer Society, assisted in the presentation of the bill and addressed the committee.

The motion to amend the bill passed with Rep. Daw and Rep. Menlove voting in opposition to the motion.
MOTION: Rep. Vickers moved to pass H.B. 419 with a favorable recommendation.
SUBSTITUTE
MOTION: Rep. Daw moved that H.B. 419 be placed on the Master Study Resolution for interim study. The motion passed with Rep. Beck and Rep. Riesen voting in opposition to the motion.
MOTION: Rep. Daw moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
