             8      General Description:
             9          This bill allows Dixie State College to form nonprofit corporations or foundations for
             10      certain purposes.

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 53B-16-501 is enacted to read:

Part 5. Dixie State College - Nonprofit Corporations or Foundations

             26          53B-16-501. Nonprofit corporations or foundations -- Purpose.
             27          (1) Dixie State College of Utah may form a nonprofit corporation or foundation


             28      controlled by the president of the college and the Board of Regents to aid and assist the college
             29      in attaining its charitable, communications, and other related educational objectives, including
             30      support for the Center for Media Innovation, film festivals, film production, print media,
             31      broadcasting, television, and digital media.
             32          (2) The nonprofit corporation or foundation may receive and administer legislative
             33      appropriations, government grants, contracts, and private gifts to carry out its public purposes.
