Senator Lyle W. Hillyard proposes the following substitute bill:

8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This bill creates a restricted account within the General Fund for reimbursement funds
11 from the federal government for the construction of veterans' nursing homes.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . creates a restricted account for reimbursement funds from the federal government
15 for the construction of veterans' nursing homes;
16 . requires that all interest and other amounts generated by the account be deposited
17 into the General Fund; and
18 . restricts the use of the account to match federal funding for construction of future
19 veterans' nursing homes.

28 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
29 Section 1. Section 71-11-11 is enacted to read:
30 71-11-11. Veterans' Nursing Home Reimbursement Restricted Account.
31 (1) There is created within the General Fund a restricted account known as the
32 "Veterans' Nursing Home Reimbursement Account."
33 (2) The account shall be funded by reimbursement funds from the federal government
34 for veterans' nursing home construction in this state.
35 (3) Interest earned or other amounts derived from funds in the account shall be
36 deposited into the General Fund.
37 (4) Funds in the account shall be appropriated by the Legislature solely for the purpose
38 of matching future funding for the construction of veterans' nursing homes within Utah and
39 Washington counties.
