Rep. Painter called the meeting to order at 9:29 a.m.

1st Sub. H.B. 64    Errors and Omissions Coverage for Insurance Producers (Rep. J. Bird)

MOTION:    Rep. Webb moved to amend 1st Sub H.B. 64 as follows:

1.    Page 8, Lines 223 through 224 :    

             223          (i) provide notice; and
             224          (ii) replace the coverage.
  (4) A title insurance producer is considered to be in compliance with this section if the title insurance producer maintains a bond, policy, or other financial protection in accordance with Subsection 31A-23a-204(2).      


The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dunnigan absent for the vote.

Rep. Bird introduced the bill and explained it to the committee. Kevin Barnes, insurance agent and representative of NAIFA, and Brad Tibbitts, Utah Insurance Department, spoke to the bill.


MOTION:    Rep. Dunnigan moved to hold 1st Sub. H.B. 64 in committee. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. Webb moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.

Rep. Painter adjourned the meeting at 9:57 a.m.
