Rep. Mathis called the meeting to order at 1:34 p.m.

MOTION:     Rep. Watkins moved to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2010 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dee, Rep. Draxler, Rep. Gibson, Rep. Wilcox and Rep. Wright absent for the vote.


H.B. 141    Recreational Use of Public Water on Private Property (Rep. K. McIff)

Rep. McIff provided a handout and explained the bill to committee members.

Spoke in favor of the bill: Sterling Brown, VP. Public Policy, Utah Farm Bureau who provided              a handout to committee members.

MOTION:    Rep. Brown moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed with Rep. Draxler and Rep. Riesen voting in opposition to the motion.


H.B. 240    Department of Natural Resources Amendments (Rep. J. Draxler)

Rep. Draxler explained the bill to the committee, assisted by Michael Fowlks, Law Enforcement Chief, Department of Natural Resources, and Eric Stucki, Utah State Parks and Recreation.

MOTION:     Rep. Brown moved to pass the bill with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dee, Rep. Gibson, Rep. Noel and Rep. Riesen absent for the vote.

MOTION:     Rep. Painter moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Dee, Rep. Gibson, Rep. Noel and Rep. Riesen absent for the vote.

Rep. Barrus adjourned the meeting at 3:05 p.m.
