Committee Chair Urquhart called the meeting to order at 12:29 P.M.

MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2010 meeting.

    The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Jenkins and Stowell absent for the vote.

1.          H.B. 270 -- Financial Disclosure and Conflict of Interest Amendments

         MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to substitute H.B. 270 with 1st Sub. H.B. 270.

        The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Jenkins and Stowell absent for the vote.

        Rep. Hughes introduced and explained the bill.

         MOTION: Sen. Valentine moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 270 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

        The motion passed unanimously.        


2.     HJR 14 -- Joint Rules Resolution on Financial Disclosures

        Rep. Hughes introduced and explained the bill.

        Eric Weeks, Deputy General Counsel, Legislative Research and General Counsel, spoke to the bill.

         MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to pass HJR 14 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.

        The motion passed unanimously.
                
MOTION: Sen. Jenkins moved to adjourn.

        The motion passed unanimously.

Committee Chair Urquhart adjourned the meeting at 12:52.
