Chair Stowell called the meeting to order at 3:20 p.m.
1. Welcome and Approval of Minutes
Chair Stowell welcomed the committee and visitors
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to approve the corrected minutes from January 29, 2010 and the minutes from February 3, 2010.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. S.C.R. 006 Concurrent Resolution Approving Classification of Solid Waste Facility Solid Waste Permit (B. Goodfellow)
Sen. Goodfellow introduced the resolution.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to adopt Amendment #1.
The motion passed unanimously.
Lance Allen, from Waste Management Mountain View landfill assisted in the presentation. Craig Moody, from Waste Management Mountain View landfill, assisted in the presentation.
Dennis Downs, Director of the Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste, spoke in favor of the resolution.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to pass S.C.R. 6 out of committee as amended with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to place S.C.R. 6 as amended on consent.
The motion passed unanimously.
3. S.C.R. 007 Concurrent Resolution Approving Solid Waste Classification Change (W. Niederhouser)
Sen. Neiderhouser introduced the resolution.
Craig Moody, Waste Management, spoke to the bill. Dennis Downs, Director of the Division of Solid and Hazardous Waste spoke to the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to pass S.C.R. 7 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to perform an interim study on S.C.R. 7.
The motion passed unanimously.
4. H.B. 69 State Engineeer's Plugging of Wells Repealer (J. Gowans)
Rep. Gowans introduced the bill. Kent Jones, State Engineer, assisted in the presentation.
MOTION: Sen. Morgan moved to pass H.B. 69 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to place H.B. 69 on consent.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Dayton moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
