Chair Stowell called the meeting to order at 2:19 p.m.
1. Welcome and Approval of Minutes
Chair Stowell welcomed the committee and visitors .
MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to approve the minutes from February 9, 2010, and February 12, 2010.
The motion passed unanimously.
2. S.B. 164 Surety Requirements for Mining (D. Stowell)
Sen. Stowell introduced the bill.
Todd Bingham, from the Utah Mining Association, spoke in favor of the bill.
John Baza, Director of the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining, spoke in favor of the bill.
MOTION: Sen. Stowell moved to pass S.B. 164 out of committee with a favorable recommendation.
The motion passed unanimously.
MOTION: Sen. Christensen moved to adjourn.
The motion passed unanimously.
Chair Stowell adjourned the meeting at 2:28 p.m.
