8 General Description:
9 This bill enacts Title 67, Chapter 25, Part 2, Work Week, to provide for a five-day work
10 week for a state agency in the executive branch.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . requires a state agency in the executive branch to operate nine hours on a Monday,
14 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; and
15 . makes technical changes.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 67-25-101 is enacted to read:

31 67-25-101. Title.
32 This chapter is known as "General Requirements for State Officers and Employees."
33 Section 2. Section 67-25-102 is enacted to read:
34 67-25-102. Definitions.
35 As used in this chapter, "state agency" means a department, division, board, council,
36 committee, institution, office, bureau, or other similar administrative unit of the executive
37 branch of state government.
38 Section 3. Section 67-25-201 is enacted to read:

40 67-25-201. State agency work week.
41 (1) Except for a legal holiday established under Section 63G-1-301 , a state agency shall
42 operate at least one physical location at least nine hours a day on Monday, Tuesday,
43 Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to:
44 (a) conduct the ordinary course of the state agency's business performing the state
45 agency's administrative function and statutory duty; and
46 (b) provide service to another entity of the state, a political subdivision, or the public
47 consistent with a function or duty described in Subsection (1)(a).
48 (2) This section does not limit the days or hours a state agency may operate.
