9 General Description:
10 This bill directs the commissioner of higher education to reallocate $1.5 million
11 appropriated to the eight Utah higher education institutions for compensation.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This bill:
14 . directs the commissioner of higher education to reallocate $1.5 million appropriated
15 to the eight Utah higher education institutions for compensation to ensure that each
16 higher education institution receives the same percentage compensation reduction.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Section 53B-2-108.2 is enacted to read:
27 53B-2-108.2. Appropriation reallocation -- Commissioner reallocation of certain

28 compensation amounts.
29 Notwithstanding the $1.5 million appropriated for fiscal year 2012 to the eight higher
30 education institutions for compensation in Senate Bill 3, Appropriation Adjustments, 2011
31 General Session, and Senate Bill 6, State Agency and Higher Education Compensation
32 Appropriations, 2011General Session, the commissioner of higher education shall equalize the
33 money appropriated to each higher education institution for compensation in those bills by
34 removing excess money from some institutions and transferring the money to underfunded
35 institutions so that each higher education institution takes a 0.6% reduction of their cumulative
36 fiscal year 2011 general fund and education fund base appropriation.
