8 General Description:
9 This joint rules resolution modifies the joint legislative rules to establish an interim
10 committee on federalism.

20 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
21 Section 1. IR1-1-201 is amended to read:
22 IR1-1-201. Interim Committees Established -- Membership -- Chairs -- Chair
23 Duties.
24 (1) The President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House shall:
25 (a) appoint members from their respective chambers to serve on the following joint
26 interim committees:
27 (i) Business and Labor Interim Committee;

28 (ii) Education Interim Committee;
29 (iii) Federalism Interim Committee;
30 [(iii)] (iv) Government Operations Interim Committee;
31 [(iv)] (v) Health and Human Services Interim Committee;
32 [(v)] (vi) Judiciary Interim Committee;
33 [(vi)] (vii) Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee;
34 [(vii)] (viii) Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Interim Committee;
35 [(viii)] (ix) Political Subdivisions Interim Committee;
36 [(ix)] (x) Public Utilities and Technology Interim Committee;
37 [(x)] (xi) Retirement and Independent Entities Interim Committee;
38 [(xi)] (xii) Revenue and Taxation Interim Committee;
39 [(xii)] (xiii) Transportation Interim Committee; and
40 [(xiii)] (xiv) Workforce Services and Community and Economic Development Interim
41 Committee; and
42 (b) appoint one member from their chamber to serve as cochair of each interim
43 committee.
44 (2) The chairs of each interim committee, meeting jointly, shall:
45 (a) determine the agenda for committee meetings;
46 (b) assist and give direction to staff in the conduct of the committee's business; and
47 (c) perform other duties assigned by the committee.
