10 General Description:
11 This bill modifies the Fire Prevention and Fireworks Act regarding the allowable times
12 to discharge fireworks.
13 Highlighted Provisions:

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 53-7-225 is amended to read:
26 53-7-225. Times for sale and discharge of fireworks.
27 (1) A person may sell Class C common state approved explosives [
28
29 (a) beginning on June [
30 (b) beginning on December [
30a H. [
31 (c) [
32 (2) [
33 explosives in the state as follows:
34 (a) between the hours of 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. S. , except that on July 4 and July 24, the
34a hours are 11 a.m. to midnight .S :
35 [
36 (ii) beginning on July 21 and ending on July 27;
37 (b) S. (i) .S beginning at 11 a.m. on December 31 and ending at 1 a.m. on the following
37a day;
38 S. [
38a (ii) if New Year's eve is on a Sunday and the local governmental jurisdiction determines
38b to celebrate New Year's eve on the prior Saturday, then it is lawful to discharge Class C
38c common state approved explosives on that prior Saturday; and .S
39 (c) beginning at 11 a.m. on the Chinese New H. [
39a a.m. on the
40 following day.
41 S. (3) A person who violates the time restrictions stated in Subsections 2(a), 2(b), or
41a 2(c) is guilty of an infraction. .S [
