7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the continuing education requirement for renewal of a license for the
10 practice of architecture.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . removes the statutory continuing education hour requirement for renewal of a
14 license for the practice of architecture; and
15 . requires the Department of Professional Licensing to establish by rule the
16 continuing education requirements for renewal of a license for the practice of
17 architecture.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 58-3a-303.5 is amended to read:

28 58-3a-303.5. Continuing education.
29 (1) As a condition for renewal of a license under this chapter, each licensee shall,
30 during each two-year licensure cycle or other cycle defined by rule, complete [16 hours of
31 qualified] continuing professional education in accordance with standards defined by rule.
32 (2) If a renewal period is extended or shortened under Section 58-3a-303 , the division
33 shall proportionately increase or decrease the continuing education hours required for licensure
34 renewal under this section.
