             7      LONG TITLE
             8      General Description:
             9          This bill requires the State Board of Education to assign a unique student identifier to
             10      each child who participates in UPSTART.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:
             12          This bill:
             13          .    requires the State Board of Education to assign a unique student identifier to each
             14      child who participates in UPSTART for the purpose of tracking individual student
             15      performance on achievement tests.

             21      ENACTS:
             22          53A-1a-1008, Utah Code Annotated 1953

             24      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             25          Section 1. Section 53A-1a-1008 is enacted to read:
             26          53A-1a-1008. Unique student identifier.
             27          (1) The State Board of Education shall assign a unique student identifier as defined in


             28      Section 53A-1-603.5 to each child who participates in UPSTART.
             29          (2) The unique student identifier shall be used to track individual student performance
             30      on achievement tests administered under Chapter 1, Part 6, Achievement Tests.
