             8      Committee Note:
             9          The Transportation Interim Committee recommended this bill.
             10      General Description:
             11          This bill modifies the Off-Highway Vehicles Code by amending provisions relating to
             12      off-highway vehicle registrations.
             13      Highlighted Provisions:
             14          This bill:
             15          .    increases the cap on the registration fee amount that the Board of Parks and
             16      Recreation may establish for snowmobile registrations; and
             17          .    makes technical changes.
             18      Money Appropriated in this Bill:
             19          None
             20      Other Special Clauses:
             21          This bill takes effect on July 1, 2012.
             22      Utah Code Sections Affected:
             23      AMENDS:
             24          41-22-8, as last amended by Laws of Utah 2004, Chapters 159 and 349

             26      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             27          Section 1. Section 41-22-8 is amended to read:


             28           41-22-8. Registration fees.
             29          (1) The board shall establish the fees which shall be paid in accordance with this
             30      chapter, subject to the following:
             31          (a) [The] (i) Except as provided in Subsection (1)(a)(ii), the fee for each off-highway
             32      vehicle registration may not exceed $17.
             33          (ii) The fee for each snowmobile registration may not exceed $25.
             34          (b) The fee for each duplicate registration card may not exceed $3.
             35          (c) The fee for each duplicate registration sticker may not exceed $5.
             36          (2) A fee may not be charged for an off-highway vehicle that is owned and operated by
             37      the United States Government, this state, or its political subdivisions.
             38          Section 2. Effective date.
             39          This bill takes effect on July 1, 2012.
