Madam Speaker:

    The Transportation Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 260, PEDESTRIANS ON HIGHWAYS, by Representative L. Perry, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Lines 13 through 14 :    

             13          .    provides that a pedestrian may not walk

{   along or   } on a freeway or      {   a limited access

             14      highway  
}
  certain controlled-access highways in an urbanized area       except during an emergency; and


2.    Page 2, Lines 47 through 48 :    

             47          (7) A pedestrian may not walk
{   along or   } on [a no access freeway facility] a freeway or      {   a

             48      limited access highway  
}
  any other controlled-access highway in an urbanized area as defined by the current census upon which entrance, exit, and cross traffic is controlled in the same manner as on a freeway       except during an emergency.
