Madam Speaker:

    The Health and Human Services Committee reports a favorable recommendation on H.B. 357, GUARDIAN AD LITEM AMENDMENTS, by Representative L. Christensen, with the following amendments:

1.    Page 1, Line 10 :

{   78A   }        78B       , Chapter 7,      {   Justice Court   }        Protective Orders       , and Title 78B, Chapter 15, Utah Uniform Parentage Act,


2.    Page 9, Lines 268 through 269 :    

             268      attorney guardian ad litem.
  (18) Any savings that result from assigning a private attorney guardian ad litem in a district court case, instead of a guardian ad litem from the Office of Guardian ad Litem, shall be applied to the Office of Guardian ad Litem to reduce caseloads and improve current practices.      

             269          Section 5. Section 78B-3-102 is amended to read:

3.    Page 14, Lines 409 through 410 :    

             409          (4) The court may appoint [an] a private attorney guardian ad litem
