Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 4:16 p.m.

MOTION:     Sen. Hillyard moved to approve the minutes of the January 31, 2012 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. McAdams and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.
    
S.B. 154    Judiciary Amendments (Sen. L. Hillyard)
    
Sen. Hillyard introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Hillyard moved to pass S.B. 154 out of committee favorably. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. McAdams absent for the vote.

H.B. 14    Civil Commitment Amendments (Rep. B. Daw)

Spoke for the bill:        Paul Boyden, Executive Director, Statewide Association of Prosecutors

MOTION:    Sen. Romero moved to move on to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed unanimously.            

1st Sub H.B. 17    Sex Offender Registry Chapter (Rep. J. Draxler)

Rep. Draxler introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass 1st Sub. H.B. 17 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 40    Gambling Amendments (Rep. D. Ipson)

Rep. Ipson introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke for the bill:        Clinton Drake, Layton City Attorney's Office

MOTION:    Sen. Urquhart moved to pass H.B. 40 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hillyard, Sen. McAdams, and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.     

MOTION:    Sen. Uquhart moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously, with Sen. Hillyard, Sen. McAdams, and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

Chair Madsen adjourned the meeting at 5:15 p.m.
