Chair Reid called the meeting to order at 2:10 p.m.
        
Approval of Minutes    

MOTION: Sen. Okerlund moved to adopt the minutes of the February 3, 2012 meeting. The              motion passed unanimously with Sen. Morgan absent for the vote.

S.B. 164    Transportation Funding Amendments (Sen. J. Stevenson)

Sen. Stevenson introduced and explained the bill assisted by Mark Nord, West Valley City,
and answered questions from the committee.

Carlos Braceros, Utah Department of Transportation further explained the bill.

Spoke for the bill:    Laura Hansen, Executive Director, Jordan River Commission                 A handout was distributed.
                Lincoln Shurtz, Utah League of Cities and Towns

MOTION:    Sen. Jones moved go to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed unanimously.

S.J.R. 2    Joint Resolution on Taiwan (Sen. P. Knudson)

Sen. Knudson introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Stevenson moved to pass S.J.R. 2 out with a favorable recommendation. The              motion passed unanimously .


S.C.R. 6    Concurrent Resolution Honoring the Salvation Army (Sen. R. Romero)

Rep. Romero introduced and explained the bill assisted by Steve Thompson, Government Relations Salvation Army.

MOTION:
Sen. Morgan moved to pass S.C.R. 6 with a favorable recommendation . The             motion passed unanimously.

MOTION: Sen. Jones moved that S.C.R. 6 be placed on the Consent Calendar. The motion              passed unanimously.

M OTION:     Pres. Waddoups moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.     Chair Reid adjourned the meeting at 2:40 p.m.
