7 LONG TITLE
8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the Utah State Retirement and Insurance Benefit Act by amending
10 provisions of the Public Employees' Long-term Disability Program.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 . allows the Public Employees' Long-term Disability Program to include one or more
14 long-term disability benefit plans that differ from the benefit plan specified in
15 statute for an eligible state public employee; and
16 . makes technical changes.

25 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26 Section 1. Section 49-21-105 is amended to read:
27 49-21-105. Purpose -- Flexibility -- Administration.

28 (1) The purpose of this chapter is to provide long-term disability benefits for [eligible
29 employees] an eligible employee.
30 (2) Subject to the provisions of Section 49-21-201 , the program may include one or
31 more long-term disability benefit plans that differ from the benefit plan specified by this
32 chapter for an eligible employee of a covered employer as defined under Section 49-20-102 .
33 [(2)] (3) The program shall be administered by the office, under policies and rules
34 adopted by the board.
