             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends Title 23, Chapter 19, Licenses, Permits, and Tags, by modifying
             10      hunting and fishing license expiration date provisions.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 23-19-7 is amended to read:
             25           23-19-7. Expiration date of licenses, permits, and certificates of registration.
             26          (1) The [licenses] Wildlife Board shall establish the term and expiration date for a
             27      license, permit, and certificate of registration issued under this [chapter, except lifetime
             28      licenses, will expire 365 days from the date of issue] title.
             29          (2) The division shall indicate the term and expiration date established under


             30      Subsection (1) on each license, permit, and certificate of registration.
             31          Section 2. Section 23-19-21 is amended to read:
             32           23-19-21. Fishing license.
             33          (1) A person 12 years of age or older shall purchase a fishing license before engaging
             34      in [any] a regulated fishing activity.
             35          (2) [A person 12 years of age or older, upon] Upon paying the fee prescribed by the
             36      Wildlife Board, a person may obtain a license to fish[:] and engage in a regulated fishing
             37      activity in accordance with the rules, proclamations, and orders of the Wildlife Board.
             38          [(a) for one day;]
             39          [(b) for seven consecutive days; or]
             40          [(c) for 365 consecutive days from the date of sale.]
             41          (3) A person under 12 years of age may fish without a license [according to] in
             42      accordance with the rules, proclamations, and orders [set forth by] of the Wildlife Board.
             43          [(4) The effective date shall be indicated on the license.]
