8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This bill modifies education funding for school districts, charter schools, and certain
11 state agencies for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2013, and ending June 30, 2014, and
12 modifies related budgetary provisions.
13 Highlighted Provisions:
14 This bill:
15 . appropriates funding to school districts and charter schools for educator salary
16 adjustments;
17 . provides budget increases for the use and support of certain state education
18 agencies; and
19 . balances appropriations among revenue sources and funds.
20 Money Appropriated in this Bill:
21 This bill appropriates for fiscal year 2014:
22 . $37,981,600 from the Education Fund; and
23 . ($33,802,600) from various sources as detailed in this bill.
24 Other Special Clauses:
25 This bill provides an immediate effective date.

29 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
30 Section 1. Operating and capital budgets -- FY 2014 appropriations for state
31 education agencies, school districts, and charter schools.
32 (1) (a) The following sums of money are appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July
33 1, 2013, and ending June 30, 2014.
34 (b) Under the terms and conditions of Title 63J, Budgeting, the Legislature
35 appropriates the following sums of money from the funds or accounts indicated for the use and
36 support of state education agencies, school districts, and charter schools.
37 (c) These sums of money are in addition to any amounts previously appropriated for
38 fiscal year 2014.

66 Section 2. Effective date.
67 If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
68 upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
69 Constitution, Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
70 the date of veto override.
