12 This bill amends Title 23, Chapter 19, Licenses, Permits, and Tags, by modifying
13 hunting and fishing license expiration date provisions.

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 23-19-7 is amended to read:

28 23-19-7. Expiration date of licenses, permits, and certificates of registration.
29 (1) The [licenses] Wildlife Board shall establish the term and expiration date for a
30 license, permit, and certificate of registration issued under this [chapter, except lifetime
31 licenses, will expire 365 days from the date of issue] title.
32 (2) The division shall indicate the term and expiration date established under
33 Subsection (1) on each license, permit, and certificate of registration.
34 Section 2. Section 23-19-21 is amended to read:
35 23-19-21. Fishing license.
36 (1) A person 12 years of age or older shall purchase a fishing license before engaging
37 in [any] a regulated fishing activity.
38 (2) [A person 12 years of age or older, upon] Upon paying the fee prescribed by the
39 Wildlife Board, a person may obtain a license to fish[:] and engage in a regulated fishing
40 activity in accordance with the rules, proclamations, and orders of the Wildlife Board.
41 [(a) for one day;]
42 [(b) for seven consecutive days; or]
43 [(c) for 365 consecutive days from the date of sale.]
44 (3) A person under 12 years of age may fish without a license [according to] in
45 accordance with the rules, proclamations, and orders [set forth by] of the Wildlife Board.
46 [(4) The effective date shall be indicated on the license.]
